How we approach a painting job.
Most painting companies in Southern California operate on speed. Three jobs a week, two crews flipping between properties, paint applied over inadequate prep so the next deposit can come in. We built CM Painters as the opposite of that. One project at a time, the right way, with the same crew from first masking to final walkthrough.
We're based in Riverside and we serve homeowners and business owners across Riverside County and San Diego County. Every job we take, we treat the same — whether it's a single bedroom repaint in Corona or a full exterior in Carmel Valley. Same crew, same prep standard, same paint quality, same final inspection. There is no ‘budget tier’ at CM Painters because cutting corners means coming back to fix it later, and we built this company on not coming back.

We spend more time prepping than painting.
Cheap paint jobs fail in the prep stage, not the paint stage. Before any color goes on a wall, we patch nail holes, fill cracks, sand glossy or peeling areas, prime stains, caulk gaps in trim, and clean every surface. On an exterior job, this often takes longer than the actual painting. We're not in a hurry — we're trying to do this once.

Total protection of everything we're not painting.
Floors get covered. Furniture gets moved or wrapped. Light fixtures, outlets, hardware, landscaping next to exterior walls — every surface near our work gets protected. When customers come home, the only thing different about their property is the paint. No drips on baseboards, no overspray on plants, no paint on hardwood. This is non-negotiable on every job.

Sherwin-Williams and Dunn-Edwards. No exceptions.
We use Sherwin-Williams (Duration for exterior, Emerald for interior) and Dunn-Edwards (Evershield for California exteriors, Suprema for interior). These are the top-tier lines from the two best paint manufacturers serving Southern California. They cost roughly $25-40 more per gallon than builder-grade alternatives. They also last roughly twice as long under our climate's UV exposure. We've never seen a callback worth saving $200 in material cost.

Every project ends with a walkthrough.
Before we leave a job, we walk it with the customer. Anything that doesn't meet our standard or yours gets fixed before we pack up. If you spot something a week later — a missed touch-up, a thin spot in a corner, anything — we come back. This isn't a 'satisfaction guarantee' on a flyer. This is just how the job ends.

A San Diego native who built CM Painters in Riverside.
I grew up in Pacific Beach, went to Mission Bay High School, and graduated from San Diego State University. San Diego is home — it's where my family is, where I spent my childhood at the beach, and where I learned what a well-built home looks like. Riverside is where I built this business, but San Diego is where I learned what quality work means.
I started CM Painters because the painting industry needed someone who was willing to do the boring work that makes paint last — the prep, the masking, the slow careful application that customers don't see but absolutely benefit from. Most painters in Southern California are racing through jobs. We do the opposite. One project at a time, the same crew start to finish, no shortcuts on materials, and a final walkthrough before we leave. That's the standard.
Today CM Painters serves homeowners across Riverside County and San Diego County — two regions I know personally. It's the difference between a paint job and a finished home.

We don't believe in callbacks.
The painting industry has trained customers to expect things to fail. To expect callbacks, touch-ups, fade after a few summers, peeling on the south-facing wall. We don't accept that. We use the right materials, we take the time to prep, and we stand behind every job — but more importantly, we set every job up so that callbacks aren't necessary. Our customers don't call us back to fix old work. They call us back to paint a new room.
